Depending on snow conditions, the weather, and the group’s skill level, the outing can take place in various areas suitable for snowshoeing: the Glières Plateau, the Beauregard Plateau, Pointe d’Orsière, or other winter trails around the Aravis Mountains and the Annecy basin.

Starting from the cross-country ski center located on the magnificent Glières Plateau, we’ll set out, snowshoes on, to explore the snow-covered landscapes in search of our perfect picnic spot.

Throughout the hike, we’ll make our way through a preserved natural environment, passing through forests and vast open spaces typical of Haute-Savoie. Once we’ve settled into an idyllic setting, it’ll be time to share a cozy moment over a cheese fondue, while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the mountains.

Why choose a snowshoe hike with fondue in Haute-Savoie?

Snowshoeing is one of the most beautiful ways to explore the mountains in winter. It allows you to get away from the slopes, move at the group’s pace, and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of the resorts. In Haute-Savoie, the Plateau des Glières, Beauregard, and Aravis regions, as well as the area around Annecy, offer numerous trails suitable for snowshoeing.

This snowshoeing and fondue outing combines two simple pleasures: walking in the great outdoors and sharing a Savoyard meal in a snow-covered setting. It’s designed for people who want an authentic, accessible, and welcoming experience, without necessarily seeking a strenuous athletic outing.

With a mountain guide, you’ll benefit from professional supervision to explore the winter mountains with peace of mind. Choosing the route, assessing conditions, adapting to the group’s level, and ensuring safety are all integral parts of the outing. This allows you to focus on what matters most: walking, breathing, observing, and savoring the moment.

Depending on the time of year and conditions, each outing can offer a different atmosphere: a snow-covered forest, panoramic views of the Aravis Mountains, an open plateau, a sunset, or a more intimate setting in the heart of winter. Every outing is tailored to provide an experience that aligns with the weather, snow conditions, and the group’s preferences.

The snowshoeing & fondue package is particularly well-suited for an outing with friends, as a couple, with family, or for a fun group gathering. It’s also a great winter activity around Annecy, La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand, or Manigod—a unique way to explore the mountains.
